The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) requires high demands for the whole production chain of textiles to be certified. This standard corresponds to the well-known label "IVN zertifiziert - Naturtextil".GOTS has been developed by the IVN together with the Soil Association (SA, United Kongdom), the Organic Trade Association (OTA, USA) and the Japan Organic Cotton Association (JOCA, Japan).

The most important criteria of the GOTS are:
